I have realized now that I haven’t gotten to talking about the actual plot of the series.
The plot is the backbone of any animated series, and while my idea for ‘Party.exe’ is in its early stages, the importance of a solid draft is important. Even as a first draft, it serves as a vital roadmap, guiding people from conception to execution to ensure their vision comes to life as wanted.
Party.exe, while based on a Roblox, doesn’t have a lot of backstory, as in, why you’re in that world in the first place. I wanted to start with figuring that out since it sets the stage for the rest of the plot. I imagine that our main cast suddenly gets an invite from a strange entity in their mailbox or homes, and from there, a day later, they are placed into the world of Party.exe.
Now, what about that strange entity? That is the main piece of this whole show and structures the plot. It was an escaped test subject from a lab.
I believe I want the plot to slowly be revealed as the endings continue. The real plot is the fact that this strange entity created this world after escaping the lab, taking control of it, and taking the contestants, making the events of that cast experience a dream. When they wake up, it’s time for them to escape, and quickly before the entity catches them.
I think every show needs to rely on a good plot, and you can’t make it perfect immediately, so you need to make tweaks before you go much further with it. Many shows switch their plots, focus, and even character designs before finalization, so this is going to change a lot and definitely be thought out more in the future and solidified, but what’s important is that I have an outline done, and next time we can always revise, along with revisiting more characters and starting a script.
Overall, I think this is great progress so far, and I’m excited to log more of the process. This is all part of one big process through the animation pipeline that even professionals have you can bring down to a smaller scale for things from indie projects such as this. I believe building a solid plot is key for a good series
