The Poppy Foundation is a non profit organization focused on the care of un-adoptable cats with medical conditions and special needs. While most cats in their care will live the rest of their lives with Poppy, there are some cats who can be adopted and need a home. To see more information on adoption and how to help go to poppyfoundation.org.
The Poppy Foundation runs on volunteers and donations, so any donations that can be made help greatly. Supplies on their wishlist include the following:
Friskies canned food
Fancy Feast canned food
Sheba pate
Purina ONE Urinary Tract dry food
Non-clumping cat litter
Blankets
Towels
Paper towels
1/4 lb. paper food trays
Laundry detergent
33 and 13 gallon trash bags
Even if you can’t donate or volunteer, you can still visit the cats and give them some love. The cats there are very friendly, and most love to be pet as long as you’re gentle and patient with them. One cat followed me around most the time I was taking photos and wouldn’t leave my lap for a good while. (If you would like to meet this cat, it is the black one with yellow eyes pictured below.)
