This year’s 2024 Fall Dance Concert was shown in the PAC Theater on Sept. 27th and 28th. All dance majors and classes showcased a piece.
Freshman dance major Bailey Douglas, one of many performers, was interviewed about the event. “I’m in the first number of the first act, and I’m also in the Intro To Modern in the second act,” Douglas said.“I am very excited to perform with all my friends.” She also said, “I love performing in front of an audience. It’s very fun to me, I’ve been doing it for years.”
Most performers in the show will normally have a favorite dance in most cases.
Douglas said, “I like the first one, more the first act, because it’s really fun, and I like that energy.”
The show has many dances and styles such as Modern, Contemporary, Jazz, and more.
“My favorite dance in the show is the last number in the second act, I believe it’s E2,” Douglas said.
E2 is the senior year dance group, A large group of dancers with longer, more intricate numbers. This dance Douglas mentioned is a dance with black costumes and lemon trees and lemons for props adding to the dance.
Costumes are a large part of dance presentations and will add to the quality of dance making a nice finishing touch. Costumes can add to the mood of the dance and make the idea of the director’s vision of the dance peace come across to the audience even more.
“I have a costume that’s like a red outfit, and I like the skirt and in the other dance, I like the fringe as well in the skirt,” Douglas said.
