As the 2024-2025 school year kicks off at Las Vegas Academy (LVA), a new batch of freshmen has arrived. The class of 2028 has entered their high school years and is now settling in. Between navigating classes and balancing homework, these freshmen are starting to adapt to the LVA atmosphere.
Meet Audrey Stroud, a freshman vocal major. Stroud talks about her major classes so far. Including activities like karaoke, they’ve been, “Just in general, collaborating with each other and that’s a really beautiful thing,” said Stroud.
High school can be a hard transition for students, however, Audrey Stroud says it’s refreshing. “I really like it,” said Stroud. “It’s a breath of fresh air from my previous middle school, Hyde Park.” “Hyde Park is more academic based. So this is a lot, like a lot of different,” said Stroud. LVA strives to help students focus on their passions and to prepare them for the future.
When she was asked what her favorite period was, she responded with, “I’m gonna say vocal because it’s just so much fun! Either vocal or music theory. I think music theory is nice and you learn things, but it’s also really chill,” said Stroud. For Stroud, LVA is a place where students can focus on their passions while also enjoying the learning aspects. Her journey so far highlights how LVA shows how unique and enriching an experience it is for its students.
