Oliver Fairbairn, is very busy most days of the week, he dedicates most of his time to dance and school. Fairbairn usually arrives at school around 6:40 AM. Oz’s favorite days are even days because, “They have more dance in them,” said Fairbairn. He walks down to Vocational first thing in the morning to get to his dance class and immediately gets dressed so he can stretch at the start of the lesson so he doesn’t get injured during class.“He has a whole stretch routine, so we are warmed up for dance and don’t get hurt,” said Fairbairn.

When his dance teacher, Mrs. Otjes, comes into class, they do a stretch routine as well as an ab workout due to the fact that, “You have to have good abs to be a dancer,” said Fairbairn. Afterwards, it’s time to move onto their fall dance piece. “We can do good and not suck on stage,” he said.

For his third period, Fairbairn has Male Elective Dance, with his teacher Disabato, it is a special elective for only male dancers. “Dancing as a male is different from dancing as a female so we can get better just as much as the girls can get better,” said Fairbairn. Fairbairn says Disabato is his favorite teacher and male elective is his favorite class because he gets to see how his teacher thinks he should improve.

For fifth period, Fairbairn has Spanish 1 with Mr. Sauve. They are working on pronunciation in Spanish which Fairbairn says is very difficult because learning a whole new language is very challenging.                         

Then it’s lunch time, where Oz says hello to all of his friends and takes a seat at his table. 

For the sixth period, Fairbairn has English with Mr.Archibald “I love that teacher and I love that class,” said Fairbairn.

For eighth period Fairbairn goes to Mrs. Bash’s class for AP Human Geography. “Which I might have just failed that test,” Fairbarn said. They are studying how to read maps which he thinks is very useful and interesting, “But I wouldn’t take that class if I were you because the tests are incredibly difficult and this class has a lot of work,” says Fairbairn.

After school Oz takes the bus home at 2:00 PM. Fairbairn normally has around two to five hours of dance class depending on if he is working a job or doing after school curriculars. After dance class, Oz goes home and works out so he can build up more strength and eats a big meal so he can gain the calories he burned, he then goes to sleep so he can do it all over again for the next day.
