As seasons change, so do people’s skin, from dry to oily. It is important for people to adjust their routines to seasonal changes to help their skin maintain health. When interviewing Sophia Roqueni, a junior dance major, she was very eager to share her experience with skincare, and her favorite products for the seasons.
For the winter, she states that moisturizing is very important because skin can get very dry during this time of year. Some people’s skin can get drier or oilier depending on their skin type. Sophia says that she uses Cerave cream to foam cleanser. This cleanser is known to help with impurities and is a great cleanser for sensitive skin. For moisturizer in the summer, Sophia uses one moisturizer, which is Cerave again. This moisturizer is also great for acne and is safe for all skin types including dry and oily skin.
In the winter, Sophia said, “I use the same cleanser, and then use glycolic acid from the Ordinary.” Glycolic acid helps to renew damaged skin but removes dead skin cells which leaves the skin feeling fresh and clean. For moisturizer, Sophia uses, “The same Cerave moisturizer in the summer, and the Bubble moisturizer.” Double moisturizing is very important in the winter since temperatures drop which can make retaining moisture harder for many people.
Many people think that they need expensive products to keep their skin healthy over the change of seasons, but skin care products don’t have to be that expensive. Sophia provided examples of affordable, trustworthy brands such as Cerave and bubble which are good for all skin types and helpful products that are great for starting and building a beneficial skincare routine. Change in weather can be hard on people, but with these helpful tools, setting up a skincare routine won’t be so difficult.
