Fishing has been known to be one of the most difficult skills in Stardew Valley, a farming simulator, but is it as hard as it is famed to be?

According to Play Tracker, only 4% of Stardew Valley players collect the Master Angler achievement. This achievement requires you to catch at least one of every type of fish. To put this into perspective, more players obtain the most powerful weapon or complete the museum in its entirety. 

Most Stardew Valley players have been acquainted with the infamous fishing game. This minigame requires timing, but most fish are very easy to catch. 

Catfish, for example, sell for 200g, and 300g each with the angler profession. You can find these fish in the river, and they are relatively easy to catch. The high sell price of certain fish makes fishing a great way to make money early game. 

If you struggle with the fishing minigame, tackles like the trap bobber or cork bobber can make the difficulties of fishing easier. These tackles can be put onto any fishing rods ranked “Iridium” or higher and make the minigame easier.
