 Vegas is famous for its neon lights that are everywhere. In fact, it has so many lights that you can see it from outer space! Vegas has surpassed 70 watts per square meter, making it one of the brightest cities In the U.S.

Las Vegas eats more shrimp than anywhere else in the U.S.

People, whether citizens or tourists, eat an average of 60,000 pounds of shrimp or 30 tons-daily. Shrimp cocktail is a staple in Vegas, and with its many restaurants, seafood is a delectable here. A place near the coast would have been more reasonable, so it’s interesting that shrimp is the most eaten daily in a city in the desert.

The Sphinx at the Luxor is bigger than the Real Sphinx 

The Luxor’s Sphinx Stands at 110 feet tall, while the real sphinx stands at 66, making Vegas’s 44 feet taller. Also the bronze lion at the MGM is one of the largest of over 20 bronze lions in the world, standing at 45 feet tall, weighing 90,000 pounds or 45 tons.

The Las Vegas Strip isn’t even in Las Vegas and is actually located in Paradise. Even though Las Vegas is huge and famous, Most people think of it as Paradise, because of its night shows and casinos.

Over 70% of tourists end up gambling at the Strip. Many visitors may only come for sights, but with access to so many casinos the majority of the time people end up gambling. With more than 42 million people visiting Las Vegas each year,  70% represents a substantial amount of people. 

Roughly 300 marriages happen every day in Vegas 

Vegas has about 300 marriages per day in its many walk-in-wedding venues where you can get married in a matter of minutes and famously, there is the Elvis impersonator wedding.
