The Las Vegas Academy (LVA) students share their thoughts on teachers’ sayings and what it brings to the class.
Anita Gorman, a junior photography major, says that her favorite teacher catchphrase is Mr. Strehl’s “Word!” She likes this because it’s different from most teachers’ “Okay.” It brings a, “Warming environment to the classroom,” Gorman said.
Payton Miller-Snively a junior photography major says her favorite teacher catchphrase is from former English teacher Ms. Miller, and the phrase is: “A dream without a plan is a wish.” She said, “I like this catchphrase because it reminds me that we all have to work hard and put action steps into place to achieve our dreams.”
Haydin Bishop, a freshman band major, favors the quote, “My parents say otherwise” by Mr. Huston because it reflects a push and pull of growing up with a side of humor. “When this quote is retold, it always brings joyful spirits into the classroom. A visit to this class will never have a student leaving the classroom without a good laugh.” Bishop said.
In conclusion, LVA students value the unique catchphrases that teachers use because they are more than simple words; they help to create an unforgettable and motivating learning environment.
