Freshman Violet Jones is an artist at Las Vegas Academy of the Arts (LVA). She is a 2D Visual Design major whose passion began when she was little. “I’ve always done art from a young age, and I found it really relaxing,” said Jones. “A way to take a step back from all the stressful things that go on in life.”
Jones created her currently untitled piece which she said, “Is my hands holding a spherical object.”
Another great artist is Alexanderia Phoenix McCurdy, a freshman 2D Visual Design major. “I really like drawing and seeing what other people can do with their drawings,” said McCurdy.
The piece they created is titled The weird thing with the eyes. “It’s basically two hands holding up a flower to three eyes,” McCurdy said.
This piece was created to show the nature of giving and receiving. “We all give a lot, but who’s the one to judge what we get back,” said McCurdy. “Nobody really talked about how much you can give but not get back.”
The Visual Arts students at LVA showcase a remarkable amount of talent and creativity. By highlighting their amazing work, we can celebrate the passion of the students at LVA and inspire a broader appreciation for the power of art in our life.
