SkillsUSA 2025: Reno Boardwalk

What is SkillsUSA?

SkillsUSA is a national competition competed in primarily by high schoolers, yet even college students. It includes 115

different sections adhering and assessing an individual’s leadership, technical, and workplace readiness skills. Recently, Las Vegas Academy of the Arts (LVA)’s 2025 SkillsUSA chapter traveled to Reno for four days to compete in competitions like Advertising Design, Digital Cinema, T-shirt Design, etc. in the daytime. At night, our LVA students were free to hang out with friends and socialize with peers. On the evening of April 9, 2025, SkillsUSA advisors, Mrs. Stroud and Mr. Tovar, took our 16 LVA competitors to the Reno Riverwalk to see the Truckee River and the other wonderful sights within Downtown Reno.

Aishvi Bodalia is a freshman at LVA and her major is Media Arts and Communications. She likes to paint, draw, journal, and dance in her free time. She is determined to learn new things and use that knowledge to be able to make a difference in the world!
