Coachella 2025 has come and gone, and every year, there are many positive things to say about the festival. There are also some concerns that come from the festival goers or the press.
The weekend was full of excitement and a little bit of chaos. The first thing many festival goers experienced was the parking issue on Friday. People who were car camping had gotten to the festival grounds to set up early in the morning. They ended up being stuck in their cars in a traffic jam for hours with little food and water. Some people’s cars even ran out of gas later in the afternoon. Turns out that the festival recruited a new security team this year, and they didn’t have everything under control on the first day.
One of the positive things from the weekend was all of the incredible performances. This year’s lineup of artists consisted of a variety of genres from pop, electronic, country, and indie. There was something for everyone to enjoy.
One element that is a pro and/or con for festival goers each year is the food and the price of food at the festival. There is a variety of different cuisines at the event. A lot of the food is usually judged as overpriced for the amount or quality of food you get. The food in the general venue areas is sometimes lower quality than the food in the VIP areas. There are also multiple food carts around the venue serving ice cream sponsored by Afters Ice Cream and the infamous lemonade. Their lemonade is promoted as freshly squeezed lemonade, but the catch is that they don’t tell you the price until you order the lemonade; it is a $17 lemonade, including tax. When people got desperate and didn’t want to wait to get water at the refill stations, the lemonade was a quick fix.
The next con is that at the end of each day, you can see how much people litter around the grounds. Trash cans are overflowing by the end of the night so there ends up being trash scattered everywhere. The security team may have been understaffed and couldn’t pick up the trash fast. There also could have been better crowd control this year.
A big pro that people look forward to ahead of the festival is the unique art installations. There were 3 new art installations added to the festival this year. They showcased 3 different styles of art and provided shade and seating for the festival goers.
Lastly, the venue is another big pro of the festival. The Empire Polo Club in Indio, California, is a 1,000-acre event venue. The grass plot of land provides a great space for people to walk around and relax on the grass. The venue is also so big that it allows for the stages to be spread out and have room for food booths, brand activations, and more.
Overall, the cons don’t end up bothering many people. People have lots of fun every year, and there were many pros to the weekend, such as the great performances, art installations, venue, and food.
