Devil May Cry’s first game was released between August to December in the year 2001 on PlayStation 2. The game revolves around a man by the name of Dante. Dante is the main protagonist of the game, who is half demon and half human and hunts demons that cause trouble in the human world.

Devil May Cry is a franchise that has an anime series and games. Though the order of the game series is not in order for the story to make total sense. In the anime series, it is mainly about the lore and the timeline of what is really going on, and it is before what happens in the games. The game series is about the rivalry between Dante and his twin brother, Virgil.

In the storyline of the game, Dante loses his human mother to demons that were trying to kill his father, who is the demon that ruled the underworld. Those demons killed the mother by setting their house on fire. Dante had a twin brother named Virgil, who he thought also died in the fire with their mother. In the first game of Devil May Cry, he meets his brother, who is alive. Both Dante and Vergil end in a rivalry of misunderstanding

Devil May Cry has been an underrated game, and now, as of late, it has been getting the attention that it deserves thanks to the new anime that was released on Netflix this year.
