Adele’s new song, “Easy On Me” was released on October 15, 2021. Fans are excited to finally listen to her new song on her new album 30. She was able to break Spotify’s record of most streams within less than 24 hours.

Adele told the listeners on an Instagram live that 30 and “Easy on Me” are about “divorce babe divorce.” What better way for Adele to express it than through a ballad?

“There ain’t no gold in this river,/ That I’ve been washing my hands in forever,/ I know there is hope in these waters,/ But I can’t bring myself to swim,/ When I am drowning in this silence,/ Baby, let me in…” (Verse 1) Adele knew the marriage was going downhill and that divorce was going to be the ending.

“… Go easy on me, baby I was still a child /Didn’t get the chance to feel the world around me I had no time to choose/ What I chose to do So go easy on me…” (Verse 2) This verse is Adele explaining that she was having a hard time with being famous and having a marriage out in the open.

“…There ain’t no room for things to change,/ When we are both so deeply stuck in our ways,/ You can’t deny how hard I have tried,/ I changed who I was to put you both first,/ But now I give up…” (Verse 3) Adele talks about how they both had their own ways and she tried to change for him but eventually gave up.

“… I had good intentions,/ And the highest hopes,/ But I know right now/, That probably doesn’t even show…” (Verse 5) In this verse she mentions that she had wanted the marriage to do well and that she thought it was going to do well but in the end she realized that it probably didn’t come off that way.

In the end, “Easy On Me” by Adele is a great song with a great amount of streams when it was first released.
