With midterm exams and grades looming, keeping track of students’ mental health is more important than ever. Tracking student stability every quarter can create a more positive and less stressful environment at Las Vegas Academy (LVA).
“It’s definitely a new change–it’s a lot harder than middle school and what I’ve been conditioned to,” freshman Kylie Tran said, capturing the sentiment of many new students during this midterm quarter.
Although adapting to a new school can be a challenge, there are ways to manage stress and anxiety. Tran shares her coping strategy: “I’m feeling a bit stressed by school and grades,” she said. “But to cope with that, I’ve just been taking some time to myself and getting back to whatever I need to do later.”
Despite the struggles with deadlines, Tran’s mental state remains positive. She enjoys the thrill of new experiences.“I’m having a lot of fun, it’s just very different, so I need time to adjust,” Tran said.

I agree some people are melancholic and mysterious due to the pressure of school. Sometimes you have to ask, “Why so serious?” because the amount of stress is affecting their mental state.
