Outside of school, many LVA students have several other talents. Connor Koepp is a great example of that. Koepp is a tenth-grade visual art major here at LVA who does gymnastics outside of school. Recently, on April 30, he won three awards at the 2022 Men’s Development Program Western National Championship. He was the all-around first place in the Level 9 Senior B, and also placed first in high bar and pommel horse.

When asked about how he started gymnastics, Koepp responded, “I found a course, and it seemed interesting so I continued it.”

Koepp has been doing gymnastics for over eight years and practices four hours a day for five days a week. I asked Koepp what it is like balancing school work and gymnastics.

“It’s pretty difficult, but I have time anyway so I’m still able to maintain pretty good grades.”

Koepp says his strongest events would be pommel horse, high bar, and rings. This is evident in the fact that he placed so high in those events at this championship competition.

Congratulations, Connor!
