Christopher Galindo is a sophomore at LVA majoring in Choir. Despite this, Galindo finds himself delving into the world of theater, incorporating his expertise in choir with it.
Before entering high school, Galindo recounts how his first ever experience with singing was in his middle school’s talent show which opened a new door for him into the world of vocal with him saying, “I knew that I wanted to pursue vocal as my major.” To further clarify his reasoning for choosing LVA’s choir program, Galindo states, “I want to pursue choral studies, and I want to expand my vocal variety.”
However, Galindo takes a major interest into the art of theater, specifically musical theater, which allows him to blend his interest in singing with the world of acting. Through LVA, Galindo has explored his passion by participating in numerous MT opportunities like Thespians or LVA’s Shakespeare Fest.
When asked how theater impacts him, Galindo responded, “Theater is a very important part of my life as I feel it’s a very interesting topic in contrast in conjunction with vocal. Uh, musical theater has always been an interest of mine, and I feel that being able to pursue it and test it out during this school year has been very interesting and has been very impactful to my school life.”
Galindo explains how in the beginning of his journey with the arts, he felt scared, yet continuously shooting his shot and performing more and more, he can confidently say that he feels a lot more “at ease” and focused. With this, Galindo exclaims how such techniques help him in other areas of his life like, “being in the theater in vocals has definitely helped me be a more extroverted and loud person. It’s much easier to excerpt and speak to a crowd.”
Galindo participated in three separate shows on one day on May 9th, 2026. Two shows in Shakespeare Fest (Shakespeare Sucks and The Mystery of the Hekket Field Murders) and TV!, the Spring Vocal show, truly showcasing his balance of theater and vocal. He says that juggling rehearsals and communicating has become a big part of his life alongside switching between his family and performing arts life.
“I mean, three performances in one day is going to be very intense. I know I’m bound to mess up, but I’m gonna give it my best,” states Galindo. By being a very dedicated student within the LVA community, Christopher Galindo shines and displays the wide range of talents and abilities that many LVA students have by showcasing the art of juggling the arts.
