Mr. Aidan Gorman is a U.S history teacher at Las Vegas Academy (LVA). Gorman mainly teaches A.P. U.S History (APUSH), U.S History Honors, and supervises some U.S History dual credit classes. He is a very beloved teacher by many of his students, Gorman has been a teacher at LVA for 20 years.

Gorman was not always a U.S History teacher. “I taught World History my first three years at LVA.” However, a spot opened in the U.S History, Mr. Gorman was offered the position. Since he has been out of college, Mr. Gorman has been here ever since.

Gorman has always had a passion for U.S history, “I liked the subject. I majored in it in college and it was one of the few things in school I was interested in,” said Gorman. It is clear from his class and his teaching style that he has a clear passion for the subject by sharing jokes with his students.

“My favorite part of teaching is seeing kids’ interest in the subject and wanting to learn more,” said Gorman. However, Gorman does not enjoy everything about his job. “Least favorite thing is staff meetings,” said Gorman.

As a U.S history teacher, Gorman has many opinions on different subjects in history. “The most interesting part of U.S history to me is Civil Rights and the Great Depression. My favorite president is Franklin Delano Rososevelt because he’s had those two big things (the Great Depression and World War 2),” said Gorman.

Gorman is a great teacher and a very liked one as well. Junior Summer Horton said, “I like Mr. Gorman because he’s nice, funny, and he’s just a good teacher.”
