Nightmare Cafe Review

Nightmare+Cafe+Review

The Nightmare Cafe was a restaurant that was recently closed down by The Strip. I luckily got the opportunity to try it out before it closed. The whole theme of the restaurant revolved around horror, and everything in the restaurant was made to fit that in one way or another. I think this place was pretty cool and should definitely reopen at some point.

The Atmosphere: The decorations inside were reflective of the name. Scattered around the room there are statues of horror movie characters and other Halloween decorations. The lighting around the restaurant was a red/orange color, with a mix of blues and purples sprinkled in, and if you looked up, they had different horror movie scenes playing on about eight TVs that were hanging around. There was constant music playing, and most of the music played was in the rock genre. Overall, the atmosphere of the whole restaurant was super cool and made the experience a lot more fun.

Food: Everything on the menu had a name that was some sort of horror movie reference. My family and I got the burger, the chicken sandwich, and an appetizer. Most of the food they offered was common for a typical restaurant, such as burgers, tacos, and sandwiches. The food tasted great, but the appetizer we got was pretty greasy. The portion sizes were pretty large, so we had a lot we could take home. There were special drinks that were also named on theme with all of the others, and were served in skull shaped glasses, which I thought was super cool.

Overall I think The Nightmare Cafe was such a cool place, and I really enjoyed my experience there with my family. When we were there it was pretty slow but while we were leaving they were promoting a horror trivia event and that was when it started getting busier. Everything from the tables to the lights were contributing to the atmosphere. I could see this place being fun for people maybe 12+ because of the movies playing on the screens. But it definitely depends on if you enjoy horror movies or not. I would definitely say this place was a great restaurant near The Strip, and if it ever reopens, you should definitely try it.
