In the past few years, artificial intelligence has taken over almost everything, especially in schools. While some people say AI is helpful, I think it is slowly destroying creativity. Creativity is about thinking for yourself, making mistakes, and coming up with ideas that are original. AI does the thinking for us, and that’s a big problem.
One reason AI hurts creativity is because students rely on it too much. Instead of struggling with an essay or a story, people just type a prompt and get an answer in seconds. When you don’t have to think, you don’t learn how to create. Writing is supposed to be messy and hard sometimes, but AI makes it too easy. If everyone uses the same tools, all the work starts to sound the same.
Another issue is that AI removes personal voice. When you write something yourself, it shows who you are and how you think. AI writing sounds polished, but it feels empty and soulless. It doesn’t have real emotions or experiences, just patterns from other people’s work. Over time, students might forget how to express their own ideas, which is kind of scary.
AI isn’t all bad, but it shouldn’t replace creativity. It should be a tool that we use, not a way to cut corners. If we keep letting AI do all the work, future generations might not know how to think creatively at all. Creativity is what makes humans different from robots, and once we lose that, it’s not easy to go back. AI was supposed to do the simple tasks for us so that we can spend time on the creative work and it seems we are moving in the opposite direction.
