As the new school year starts the class of 2024 got to do a tradition of getting to school at 6 am to watch the sunrise. This event known as Senior Sunrise symbolizes the start of the new year and it is a fun way to have everyone socialize. Student council had photo opportunities, food, and music. This is a fun bonding between all the seniors and it is a way to celebrate them as well.

Senior dance major Rylee Kingham attended the event that morning. Since senior year has many things that are happening this year for all majors, one thing dance seniors get to experience is “senior choreography”. “Choreography”, is what Kingham is looking forward to this year now that they are a senior. With this being a new year and not knowing what it will bring, Kingham said they are “excited and a little nervous.”

Senior vocal major Brean Mea Obsuna is also looking forward to their senior year. “I’m looking forward to more freedom because I’m finally getting my driver’s license maybe,” said Obsuna. As time goes on most seniors will start to enter adulthood and will soon start a new chapter of their life. While Obsuna has been here at LVA they have met many people along the way and Obsuna have had some influence over them in a good way.  “My friends and Mrs.Lundquist have always been there for me when I needed them,” said Obsuna.

Though this year is already starting to become busy, the new seniors are going to make the best of it. Life is never planned out but it’s the little moments that make everything better. Congratulations to the class of 2024 and may great things happen for you this year.
