Students at the Las Vegas Academy of the Arts are being affected by the new changes in the school lunch and snacks. The policy has sparked discussion on fairness and the challenges of implementing uniform food guidelines on campus.
Ms. Williams notes that student purchases of snacks have decreased since healthier options were introduced. She also explains that she supports the idea of consistent health guidelines but criticizes the inconsistency among other schools. “I see other schools in these big cities that are having whatever food they want,” Ms. Williams said.
Student Emily Negaz expresses her dissatisfaction with the change in the food in the food options. “The food in the Cage is changing, and it’s not good because now there aren’t many options to choose from,” Emily said. She also quotes that the limited selection has led her and her friend to visit less frequently, as the food is no longer appealing.
Because of the new changes in the Cage, students’ satisfaction has been negatively impacted. The reduction in food variety and perceived quality has led to a decrease in student purchases, raising interest in bringing back the old items.
