Welcome back to What’s Up With LVA Vocal! Today, we’re interviewing Academy Singers’ other co-president, Mia Vazquez, to see what the vocal department has been up to since we last heard from them.

“Our winter concert is coming up, so I’m really excited for that,” Vazquez said. LVA Vocal’s winter concert, “Yuletide”, is on December 8 at 6 p.m. in the Performing Arts Center. This concert is all about celebrating that winter has finally arrived. Songs such as “It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year” by Andy Williams and “Jingle Bell Rock” by Bobby Helms are featured in the concert.

Other than the concert, Vazquez shared her eagerness to celebrate the holidays with the Academy Singers. “I’m really looking forward to celebrating the holidays with all my choir family.” In the vocal department, it’s tradition to participate in Secret Santa and celebrate the holidays together before winter break. “I think it brings us close, and we really enjoy it together.”
