What? What are you looking at? I’m not a scalper! I just like to dabble in the market a little. You know, these can go up for a good buck or so. Have you seen what the Mega Evolution-Chaos Rising Booster box is going up for? A whopping 161 smackaroos! I mean, if I ever get my hands on one of those, I think I’d sell them for up to $200! There’s nothing wrong with a little upsell. What am I supposed to do, huh? There’s so much hype for them! Have you checked the news lately? The market is going nuts over these silly little things. People have been breaking into card shops and stealing packs. Did you see the two people who broke into RNG Therapy Card Lounge in October of last year by ramming a U-Haul van into the building? Have you seen the fights at the Pokemon vending machines? It’s insane! But you know I wouldn’t do that, right?
I’m just trying to sell the cards in the TCG market. Nobody actually plays these anyways. Have you seen people who actually play these card games and collect them for a genuine passion? Could you imagine people collecting these for the love of the game? Imagine genuinely having interest in TCG that it becomes annoying when scalpers take all of the packs of cards that they want? I couldn’t even fathom how annoying that must be. Luckily, I’m not a scalper! I’m just somebody trying to get a quick buck. I prefer being called a retailer of sorts.
Even if I was a scalper, I’m helping to sell them to more people. These cards are so rare now because of how many people have been buying them. Which means if I buy them, I can give it to other people who don’t have access to it. I can sell to low-income families and price the cards so high that they can hardly afford it! I can get kids who enjoy the hobby and force them to buy from me because there’s no other choice to buy from when all the packs keep on being resold. It’s totally not out of my own benefit. I just want to help the community.
It’s not like I’m going to pass up on such a big opportunity. What do you mean I only get a $39 profit? You don’t understand! You should really think about it. Say a booster pack is $200, then I can price it up to $300 and get people to pay more than they should be. You can’t just give out things for free, am I right?
Look, it’s hard for a scalper— It’s hard for a retailer like me. I have to collect all these packs of cards and sell them as fast as possible so I can make a living. It’s really important to me that I sell them. How else am I supposed to pay my bills? Get a job? What a ludicrous suggestion! I don’t have the time for it! I only have the time to sell cards.
I don’t understand what you have against me, but I’m just a retailer. I like to sell cards and give them to people who appreciate the game. I give it to parents who want to give it to their children who are interested in the hobby. I want to make sure people buy only from me so I can get fast cash. I want to make a quick buck so I can pay off my bills. I want to take up as much product as I can and make sure that nobody buys from other sellers or from the company directly. Is that so bad?
