Archery is one of the few sports clubs offered to students at LVA. Unlike other sports that use a ball to play, Archery uses a bow and arrow.
“I love archery just so much. It is my favorite sport, and it is like the only sport I can do with my knee injuries. So it is something that has been so special to me, and it was kind of something that was uniquely me. Not a lot of my friends knew how to do archery or liked archery, or really understood it in general. So then it was the sport that I kind of had, like to myself, in a way, and that was a lot of fun.” said Archery Club President Chloe Keck.
The LVA Archery Club has even participated in the North West Career and Technical Academy’s Turkey Shoot Archery Tournament on November 15th, with Rebeka Leavitt, Ryley Slack, and Athena Pacheco placing in the top 10.
As president of the Archery Club, Keck would love to help prepare the members for tournaments.
“I want you to still feel included even when you can’t. And so I hope that when I look back, I’m like, wow, I actually, like, I did something here, and it’s, it’ll be fun. It’s kind of sad that I’m graduating and I’m leaving this club, but you know, I hope that people feel the same kind of passion as I did.”
Graduating soon, Keck hopes that passion lives on within the club in future years.
Archery Club is open to every student at LVA and takes place on Tuesdays after school from 2:30 p.m. to 3:45 p.m.
